  • History: Tell me about the history of Russia: Vladimir I brought Christianity to Russia in the 900s.  In the late 1400s, Czar Ivan the Great built the Kremlin in Moscow. Catherine the Great expanded and westernized Russia in the late 1700s.

  • Science:  What are the phases of  the moon? New, crescent, quarter, gibbous, full

  • English - Demonstrative pronouns: this, that, these, those

  • Geography: Southwest Asia: Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Calcutta, China

  • Latin: 1st conjugation plu-perfect tense:  eram, eras, erat, eramus, eratis, erant

  • Math - squares up to 15s

  • Timeline - next 7 cards

Friday, October 25, 2013 - FIELD TRIP

Today was field trip day :) The girls were super excited. Because we have been studying space and our solar system, we went and visited the planetarium today.  We learned so much.  Very informative and girls had a blast.  They were excited when they heard things we have been learning.

Also did Math and  Reading.

Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - reivew week (first 8 weeks material)

We spent today going through all 8 weeks of CC review material. The girls did exceptionally well.  I was so proud of how well they did with the memory work.  We really just need to be concentrating on the map and location of material learned.

Also did math and reading and English / phonics.

We  went to library and got new books for reading. Girls had fun!

G

  • Math  - 14F - G is doing an amazing job of learning and retaining math facts.  She is able to add easily and knows many facts.  
  • Phonics - she is doing amazing.  Can code words to sound them out.  Reading excellent!


E

  • Math - test 27  Doing amazing in her Delta book.  Starting fractions and preparing for Epsilon book.
  • English - writing papers and doing charts for EEl along with IEW


P

  • Math - 20F - doing an AMAZING job of getting addition and some subtraction now!! So proud!!!
  • English - learning all types of verbs and nouns

  • History: Tell me about the European Exploration. Between the late 1400s and the mid-1500s, Dias rounded the Cape of Good Hope, Amerigo Vespucci sailed to the Americas, Balboa crossed Central America to the Pacific, Magellan's crew sailed around the globe, and Coronado explored the American Southwest.

CC Day
It was pajama day at CC. The girls loved being able to go to school in their PJs. They each did a presentation of their first catch with their daddy while we were camping this past weekend. The girls learned a lot outside and had a good time doing it.
